Why does god hold back blessings

You choose to delight in Him and His ways. You choose Psalm However, the fear referenced in this scripture is not the terror and anxiety that God tells us to avoid. God promises that you will be blessed when you revere, worship and obey Him. In fact, there are hundreds of commands in the Old Testament alone. In Matthew , Jesus summed up all the Old Testament commandments in one word—love:. Loving God wholeheartedly and loving others is your No.

It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God gave us His Word to help us understand Him and His ways, and to assist us in living lives that reflect our salvation. And He does it for one reason and one reason only…because He loves us. What will we drink? What will we wear?

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Seeking God is what is best for us because a relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the best blessing of all. James Posted on Thursday, January 10, It seems so tempting to give a simple "yes" or "no," but maybe such an answer would be an oversimplification.

Experience can give us varying answers to this question based on what we've experienced and how we view it. One Christian might say that God's ways bring God's blessing because of how this person has seen how God provides when one complies with the tithe.

Yet another person might say that God blesses regardless of our actions. If there's one thing that can hinder the blessing of God, it's sin. Thankfully we have the answer to sin's sting and burden, and that's no less than the cross. Sadly, however, many people live a life not submitted to the power of the cross. How good is your memory? When I tend to forget things that I should have done, names that I should know and so forth, I call it senior citizen moments.

What about you? I know some people that has selective remembrance and what I mean by that is that they only remember the things that they want to remember and choose not to remember the things that they were suppose to do or what they said. I know people that only want to remember the good times of life, but remembering the bad times that we went through also helps us to keep preparing our life so we don't have to go back to those days.

As we look at the Scriptures above, we find that the people forgot the works that God had done for them and also the Word that God had given them to live by.
